Carl Wilson - 2 Albums

Carl Dean Wilson left us on February 6th, 1998. It's hard to believe it was already 10 years ago. I wasn't even that much of a Beach Boys fan at that time (I was 10 and only knew the hits), and I didn't know who he was. But now I know he was a wonderful person who struggled all his life to be a peacemaker while staying "professional". A hard task when you're a member of the Beach Boys...

I thought today was the right day to post his two solo albums: Carl Wilson (1981) and Youngblood (1983). These are unfortunately out of print nowadays, but I hope they'll be reissued soon. For the time being, enjoy those two! There are a few good "rockers" of course, but also a couple of heartfelt and beautiful songs such as Heaven or If I Could Talk To Love. "The heart and voice of an angel..."

P.S. Watch out for more reuploads - for instance, I've just reuploaded SOT Vol.17, but keep checking the links on the right side under "available stuff", as I won't post a new message each time I reupload something! ;)

  3. Thanks Linear, Stephen Newcombe here. Anon may check daily but I check hourly! Can't wait for 6 as well. And concerning the Carl Wilson albums, I have Youngblood on CD from whan it was rereleased in the early 90's. Do you think its worth anything? I have POB as well, but as that's being rereased I think I'v missed the boat, as I know that was going for £300. Anyway, thanks again

  4. Interesting, I didn't know there had been a Youngblood reissue! It's probably rare then, but I don't know if you would get a lot of money from it... Maybe someone on the smileysmile board would know!

  5. SOT 6!!!!! Thank you so much Linear. I know it must be a bit disheartening sometimes to know that thousands of people are downloading stuff from you, but few people thank you for it, but rest assured that in BB's collectors circles you are a legend my friend. Regards, Stephen N.

  8. > Stephen: even though I know a lot of people download stuff from this blog without leaving comments, I don't really care - they get and enjoy the music, and that's what really matters to me! I prefer no comments at all than uncalled-for comments ("the links have expired, you moron!" or "crap, ONLY 160 kbps!")

    > Anonymous: you're welcome! ;)

  9. Linear. Sorry, but I'm having trouble with 6 disk 2, and 17 disk 1. I've downloaded the files from 3 different links, but Stuffit reports a handle error. The other disks were fine. Is this a problme your end or mine? Stephen

  11. I should add that I use WinRAR for rar files and Winzip for zip files. Perhaps there's a problem with Stuffit!

  13. Thanks for all the downloads. If it weren't for your blog, I wouldn't have been able to hear That Lucky Old Sun until it came out on CD. You, Warnakey, Lightman, Dutchie, and Triff are godsends to us die-hard BB fans. Keep up the great work.

  14. Hi, Stephen here again. The problem ws I was saving the files deep in the bowels of my system, so the file names were too long. Stuffit wasn't reporting it, but WinRar let me know what the problem was. Also Linear, my version of Surfs Up is available at my blog. Let me know if you like it.
